We were appointed to design a scheme to redevelop a dilapidated farmyard in West Hanney. The project involved the erection of 5 new dwellings and the conversion of an existing Grade II Listed barn to create a development of 6 units in total. The development is arranged around a courtyard to reflect the historic use and rural location of the site. The dwellings are designed as a contemporary interpretation of a barn with materials and detailing selected to echo the local vernacular style of the village.
Church Farm shows how a high-quality, architect designed, development can unlock the potential of an existing under-used site and building fabric.
