It’s a fantastic feeling when a site begins to reflect the design visuals! We are extremely pleased to have largely completed the envelope of this replacement dwelling in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the River Thames - a challenging (yet rewarding) site and design - delivering a unique, contemporary boathouse in a flood plain.
Working alongside creative engineers @Centrespace Design, and contractors @Briar Construction, the design reflects the materiality and language of the surrounding area, with contemporary detailing, creating a striking waterside property that truly embraces modern living. The raised plinth ensures protection from potential flooding and allows for the balconies to overhang the river, bringing the water up front and centre in the design, while optimising elevated views of the unique location.
With just a few weeks’ work remaining externally, interior progress will soon be underway – the results of which we look forward to sharing over the coming months.
