Our People | Joel Day

February 22

Following on from last week’s case study, we’d like to introduce the Project Lead for The Limes, Joel Day. Joel joined Anderson Orr as an Architect almost four years ago, having relocated from the Midlands - where he attended the University of Nottingham. During his time at AO, Joel has worked across a broad range of projects, from Commercial schemes – including the recently-consented Park Barns we shared a few weeks back – to historic and new build private residences, including a replacement waterside property located on a particularly challenging floodplain by the River Thames (coming soon).

Joel has an infectious passion for Design and Architecture. His eye for detail, creative problem-solving, and close working relationships with specialist consultants and suppliers, ensures the architectural vision is transmitted through every aspect of the design - including the Interiors, for which he plays an integral role (and has quite the collection of material samples to show for it!)

Joel’s commitment to finding the very best way to communicate a design scheme knows no bounds - from frame-worthy, hand-drawn concept sketches, to painstakingly prepared 3D printed models, his efforts are much appreciated and admired by his clients, and co-workers, alike.

A collaborative, supportive and energetic colleague and champion for the Company, Joel has also recently become a father for the first time – following the birth of his son Mason – and has embraced this with the same passion he has for buying donuts and other sweet treats for his fellow teammates! Unsurprisingly, he is extremely popular around the office, on site and with clients, and his professional attitude and unwavering commitment has been recognised by countless clients during his time at AO, and is born out of the quality of the schemes he has led and his true dedication to the art of Architecture.

Running concurrently with The Limes, Joel is Project Lead for the Boathouse - the aforementioned riverside scheme, currently on site, with completion due in 2022 (more on this in due course). We’re extremely proud of the work that Joel has completed, and continues to deliver, and we look forward to seeing what more is in store for the future!
