Following on from our Visualisation series, we’re very pleased to introduce the artist behind the work - Paul Jones. Originally hailing from Shropshire, Paul joined the practice as lead 3D Artist in August 2017, having completed a BA(Hons) in Interior Architecture & Architectural Design at the University of Wales, followed by positions at an award-winning contemporary architectural practice in Hampshire, and an Oxford-based creative studio specialising in high-end construction imagery, animation, and interactive assets.
Over the last five years, Paul has led the development of our Visualisation team, creating an inspiring and first-class wealth of captivating images for our architectural and interior projects - from ‘white clay’ massings to photo-realistic renders, photomontages to conceptual sketches. He is compassionate and understanding, with an incredible eye for detail and an uncanny ability to interpret a brief, always making sure his artwork is meaningful and truly captures the essence of a project.
Exuberant and thoughtful, Paul is an intrinsic and motivating presence in our studio. With a patient and inclusive approach to his work, he finds creative and collaborative ways to achieve compelling results, alongside his design colleagues. He is generous with his time, constructive with feedback, and has been an invaluable mentor to many of the team, always happy to share his knowledge and experience to develop others.
Husband to Lizzie, and (super) Dad to Verity and Harmony, Paul is a true family man - and despite the entertaining pre-nursery / school drop-off stories he shares, he meets each day in the office with an enthusiastic and celebratory "good morning!" to all - and carries that spirited quality through all of his work and every interaction. Paul is the person who remembers everyone’s projects - he’s the person who knows the names of everyone’s kids, partners, hobbies, and hot drink preferences. He is kind, conversational, and brings the best out in those around him - his enthusiasm really is contagious.
Paul works extremely hard to be the best at what he does, but he does this unselfishly, taking others on the journey, raising up those around him, and celebrating their achievements - usually more than his own. He is the epitome of AO culture and an asset to the team - and we look forward to appreciating, and sharing, his incredible work for years to come.
