Our People | Becca Beer

May 24

In anticipation of some exciting Planning news next week – for which she played a pivotal role – we're pleased to turn the spotlight to our colleague, Becca Beer.

Originally hailing from South Africa and having settled with her family in Oxfordshire as a child, Becca joined AO as a Part II Architectural Assistant in 2021. She previously attended Portsmouth School of Architecture, where she completed her BA – achieving the prestigious Chris Henderson Drawing Award at graduation – followed by her MArch at the Manchester School of Architecture, where her dissertation earned a nomination for the SAHGB Dissertation Prize.

Becca diligently continued her studies, working towards gaining her Part III with the RIBA in London, whilst continuing to flourish in her role at the practice. Transitioning seamlessly into the professional realm, Becca has been involved in a broad range of projects with us, from historic and new build residences to a very exciting school development in Berkshire, and we were delighted to celebrate her qualification in December 2023.

An extremely popular member of the AO team, Becca has a wonderfully calming and gentle presence - softly spoken and supportive, she has a strong sensibility for those around her. A talented yet modest designer, architecturally Becca's passion lies in the intricate details and personalised touches of a project, and her keen eye and unwavering commitment to client-centric design are the cornerstones of her approach.

Beyond the office, Becca is a connoisseur of hobbies, forever seeking new avenues for exploration and self-improvement. Whether she's hitting the gym or tennis court, lacing up her hiking boots, or gliding across the ice rink in her latest pursuit of skating mastery, Becca's zest for life and thirst for new experiences is nothing short of inspiring. Her creative flair also extends far beyond the realms of architecture, as she explores a myriad of crafty pursuits, from painting and sewing to woodworking.

Officially now an Architect, Becca continues to inspire us, and we feel privileged to have her in our team, infusing the workplace with her kindness and positivity. Next week’s project stands as a testament to Becca’s perseverance and collaborative spirit, marking the culmination of her dedication and the collective effort of our team. Here's to Becca’s continued success and the countless milestones that lie ahead in her future.
