This project involved the transformation of a 3-storey former mill building located in central Oxford. Following our client’s acquisition of the property, we were appointed to extend, remodel and upgrade the building into a home suitable for their retirement.
Following extensive negotiation with the Planning Department, the practice gained consent for both front and rear extensions, along with a replacement side extension. A previous two storey extension was replaced and now links the new front and rear extensions. A partial basement utilises the change in level on site and creates additional accommodation. The use of ashlar stone with red brickwork provides a sympathetic and contextually appropriate material palette within the Walton Manor Conservation Area.
