We were commissioned to design a new 4 bedroom dwelling with a basement on a secluded site within the Conservation Area on the outskirts of Oxford. The sensitive nature of the site led to the choice of a more vernacular design, focussed around a well-proportioned front façade with a central door, flanked by large, traditional sliding-sash windows.

Included within the design is a rear gable projection providing a Master Bedroom at first floor level and Kitchen and Family Room accommodation at ground floor level, opening out onto a rear terrace which leads through to landscaped gardens. The rear roof also provides a discreet location for solar panels, helping to improve the green credentials of the property.
